I’ve posted up several videos from The Young Turks on several issues ranging from Rick Santorum’s idiocy to Larry Pratt on Trayvon Martin to Conservatives and their ridiculous subsidies to Oil Companies to Shaima Alawadi’s death. I did this over an hour on facebook and now I capped it all off with this image below:
Interested to see what the reactions will be for those posts and which one will get the most reactions/responses. Not trying to use my friends as guinea pigs or disrespect them for that matter, but it really depresses me to see that for the average person doesn’t take the time to go out of their way even attempt being more socially conscious.
That isn’t to say that I’m any different, far from it. I’ll readily admit that up until the whole KONY2012 craze as well as Trayvon Martin’s death I didn’t really give a rat’s ass about a lot of social problems out there. I wasn’t completely ignorant, but I didn’t make a conscious effort to even be aware of these problems. I’d take stuff like this in passively and I’ll say it’s pathetic of me that I needed tragedies like Trayvon and complete farces like KONY2012 to stir that feeling inside me to actually give a shit about what’s going on in the world. I guess that’s just how the complacent world works and that humanity is just a collection of hopeless fools that constantly need something negative to remind them that the illusion they live in isn’t reality.
I’ve kinda just relegated my facebook profile to being an extension of this tumblr, but focusing more on movie blogging… well linking.
